Accessibility Statement

Contento is committed to enabling equal access for all users, including people with disabilities. This accessibility statement is published under the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Law (1998) and the IS 5568 standard.

Accessibility Level

The standard we work to is the Israeli standard IS 5568, which is based on WCAG 2.0 Level AA. The public website is tested automatically on every code change against the WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 Level A and AA rules that can be checked automatically. The platform does not yet fully meet the standard; the known gaps are listed below.

What Has Been Tested and Meets the Requirements

  • The public website (home, pricing, solutions, features, policy documents, sign-up and log-in): zero violations in automated testing (axe-core) against WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 Level AA, in Hebrew and English, on desktop and phone, on every code change.
  • Level AA color contrast on every public page and on the main content-creation screens.
  • A "Skip to main content" link on every page.
  • Keyboard-only navigation was tested manually on the home page, the pricing page and the content-creation screens (studio, page editor, chapter list on phone).
  • Chapters, pages and questions can be reordered with the keyboard (Space and arrow keys), with announcements for screen readers.
  • Windows and dialogs close with the Escape key and return focus to where they were opened from.
  • Video and audio players use the browser's built-in controls.
  • Icon buttons across the platform have an accessible name for screen readers, and an automated check on every code change blocks a new icon button without one.
  • Status colors (success, warning) meet AA text contrast in light and dark mode, and an automated check on every code change enforces it.

Accessibility in Progress

These are the gaps we know of, and we are working on them:

  • Captions for videos and podcasts created on the platform: not yet available.
